Bhagavad Gītā literally built by two Sanskrit word bhagavan means God and gītā means song, so it means the Song of God. Bhagavad-Gītā is very important part of Mahabhārata, because it contains the teaching of Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa to his intimate friend warrior Arjuna. This Bhagavad Gītā teaching is handed down from spiritual teacher to student in disciplic succession. This Bhagavad Gītā edition by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedānta Swami Prabhupāda, Founder Acarya of International Society for Kṛṣṇa Consciousness, is called Bhagavad Gītā As It Is because His Divine Grace presented the Bhagavad Gītā as it understood by Arjuna from Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
In Bhagavad-Gītā there are 5 subjects discussed, namely:
(1) īśvara, the Supreme God
(2) ātma’, the Soul
(3) prakṛti, material energy
(4) kāla, time
(5) karma, action
After studying this teaching of Gītā properly and applied it in daily life, we will find that we are the most fortunate one knowing this transcendental teaching which give real happiness.
This edition of គម្ពីរភគវទ្គីតាច្បាប់ដើម is in progress of translation. The available file include the word by word meaning and translation in Khmer language of the whole 700 slokas. This is translated by HG Prasannātma Dāsa Prabhu, devotee practicing in ISKCON and Bhaktin Chhom Kunthea, one of Sanskrit Scholar in Cambodia.
